Patient News’ CEO and co-owner Wayne Lavery was the Marketing Manager for Health First Doctors Offices, the largest group of corporately run medical facilities in Canada. While there, Wayne introduced a number of marketing solutions – including patient newsletters which satisfied a niche-market opportunity. After an exhaustive competitive review of the dental marketing field, Patient News was established, and...
We produced and mailed our first patient newsletter for Dr. Paul Piccininni (dentist to the Toronto Argonauts) in 1993. That same year, Wayne and Karen Galley, President and co-owner, moved to Haliburton where the Patient News headquarters is located today.
Karen’s background in sales and business management drove the development of our excellent customer servicing guidelines, unique business management strategies, and core cultural decisions earning Patient News an early reputation as a great company to work with. Together they developed a team of dedicated and talented expert marketers with a special and unique corporate culture.
From the start, we had our eye on product development and excellence in innovation and quality. Our patient newsletter core product quickly grew to direct mail, new-patient newsletters, practice brochures, referral cards, and patient surveys, to innovative solutions like our unsurpassed market research and our unparalleled – Practice ZEBRATM. Everything we do at Patient News is driven by our commitment to help our clients build and strengthen their patient relationships. We make sure our clients STAND OUT in their practice communities.
With a dedicated focus on quality, customization, and flexibility, Patient News quickly earned the reputation as the best provider in the industry.
As we approached the millennium year (way back when everyone thought computer systems worldwide would explode), we determined that we had a product that would be extremely competitive in the US. Karen, along with Joanne Bishop (VP), led the launch into the States at the Chicago Midwinter Meeting in February 2000. The tremendous welcome we had from our initial US clients lead to rapid expansion across the country. Subsequently Patient News has become the largest provider of customized dental marketing newsletters in North America.
Our core purpose is to build and strengthen our clients’ patient relationships, and our core values guide our business decisions to this day.
They include innovation and product quality, excellence in customer service, our corporate culture, commitment to the environment, a fun and creative working environment, and support of our local and professional communities.
Our commitment to innovation and quality has driven our product development team to continuously apply best practices and beyond. Detailed research, experience, and market analysis have expanded our dental marketing solution line-up which now includes industry-leading research-based direct mail, digital, and social programs.
Our dental marketing solutions are driven by our commitment to improving our clients’ dental marketing and practice results and growth.
Causes Close To Our Hearts
We support various staff-driven initiatives from food drives to cancer walks to heart and stroke benefits. We’ve sponsored several dental missions, contributing thousands of dollars to the well-being of families in Honduras and through Climb for a Cause.
We’re proud of our support of Haliburton County’s Volunteer Dental Outreach. They assist folks who have oral health needs but don’t have the funds to afford regular dentistry.
For many years, Patient News has contributed to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s Give Back a Smile program to help restore smiles of victims of domestic violence.
The team at Patient News is proud of our involvement with the village of Kamengo. We assisted them by setting up 9 computer classrooms, kicking off a water project to replace dilapidated facilities, initiated and installed solar lights (to replace dangerous oil lanterns and to allow kids to read and learn at night), as well as supporting much-needed medical and dental treatment.
Organizations Patient News Supports:
One of our core values is dedication to the environment. Your visible eco-activities will set your practice apart. The customized flexibility of our campaigns allows you to educate patients and prospects about your green approach. Our libraries cover a vast array of topics including amalgam disposal, sterilization, and many more interesting themes. Print campaigns feature Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® C019757) certified paper products, and environmentally sound production processes.
Patient News is proud to offer Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) certified products. We can do this because we have successfully completed the rigorous certification process, meeting their scrupulous international standards. We are audited every year.
This means that we support responsible environmental practices to trace the chain of custody of the paper we use from the original forest site through every single step to consumer point-of-purchase. All forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible, socially beneficial, and economically viable way.
By agreeing to purchase only FSC-certified paper and other products, Patient News has guaranteed its employees and community, as well as clients, that we are using paper products purchased only from organizations that are equally committed to responsible forest management.
“Our clients are helping to make a measurable contribution to protecting our forests, wildlife, and water. We are proud that they can benefit from value-added integrity and product quality. The FSC logo on every client newsletter and postcard can only create a stronger reputation and brand image with their patients and their communities as well,” says Karen Galley,
